SafoHome counts future website visits by domain. Your data stays on your Mac and, when available, in your private iCloud database.
SafoHome counts future, top-level HTTP/HTTPS visits after Safari website access is granted. It does not read existing Safari history. Automatic visit counting reduces each page address to its registrable domain locally and discards the full address. It does not automatically collect page contents, search terms, names or email addresses.
When you add or pin a link, its full HTTP/HTTPS URL (including path, query and fragment) is saved as a bookmark. Task titles, completion state and multiple post-it notes are stored locally. Choosing “Add to Focus as a note” deliberately saves the selected text or link. OPML import or manual feed entry saves source URLs, titles and folder memberships. Imported OPML files are parsed locally, not uploaded to a third-party service.
When available, SafoHome syncs domains, per-device visit counts, domain preferences, bookmarks, tasks, notes, feed subscriptions, the weather city and Focus visibility through its private CloudKit database. Records include modification times and a random installation identifier used for merging changes; this is not your account identity. Deleted records are retained as tombstones so older devices cannot resurrect them. If iCloud is unavailable, local data remains available and sync can retry. Explicitly saved bookmark and feed URLs and note contents are included in this sync; full automatically visited page addresses are not.
A city you enter is sent to Apple Maps for geocoding and Apple Weather for a forecast. SafoHome never requests device location. The chosen city syncs through your private CloudKit database so a new or reset Mac can show the same weather; turning the weather widget on or off stays on each Mac. The cached forecast and approximate city-center coordinates are stored locally for the widget and pixel map. Timer duration and active deadline are local and do not sync.
SafoHome requests your chosen feeds directly from their hosts using the native app extension. Those hosts receive normal network request information, including your IP address and requested feed URL. Requests do not send browser cookies or account credentials. Article titles, URLs, dates and HTTP cache validators are cached on this Mac; article caches do not sync through iCloud. Remote article images and scripts are not loaded. Opening an article navigates to the original website in a new tab, where that website’s privacy practices apply.
JSON exports contain saved bookmarks, counts, preferences, tasks, notes, feed subscriptions, chosen city and timer duration. OPML exports contain feed URLs and folder memberships. Exported files are unencrypted and saved where you choose; they can contain personal text or private URL parameters you deliberately saved. Imports merge data. Local snapshots taken before migration/import are retained for recovery; these snapshots are not synced.
SafoHome has no advertising or analytics SDK and no SafoHome account. Opening the toolbar icon checks open tabs locally to reuse the current window’s SafoHome tab; it does not save tab titles or URLs as browsing data.
